This place is a destination in itself. Its tastefully decorated. There is a large book and games collection which our group (with 2 young kids) enjoyed a lot. Daryl and Louisa were friendly and responded promptly. Sunrise on the lake is just beautiful! The path to the lake and the lake itself is just so scenic. Proximity to Bancroft downtown is a huge plus, easy to load up on supplies and many restaurant options. BBQ, campfire, kayaking, star gazing, bird watching – all on site.

“Short, but very, very sweet” is how we would like to describe our magical stay at Cedarhaus. We spent the afternoon on and in the lake while listening to the birds singing. We loved our warm welcome here upon our arrival and were pleasantly surprised by the state of the guesthouse and the full kitchen kitchen equipment and pantry options for breakfast. Too bad we couldn’t stay longer!

My family had a wonderful stay in Bancroft. Cedarhaus was spotless, comfortable, and stylishly decorated – with such amazing attention to detail! The property is more like staying at a spa retreat than a cottage with beautifully cut paths through the trees, layered with cedar chips, leading to a private lake. The hosts were friendly and responsive to any queries we had and were very knowledgeable about the surrounding amenities.
